- Some Answered Questions, Chapter 4
Was not Zoroaster[edit]
"Zoroaster was not Abraham; the Muslims, some of them, contend that they were the same, but we believe they were two distinct Prophets. There is a misunderstanding in the reference in 'Bahá'í Proofs' to this matter."
- (From a letter written on behalf of Shoghi Effendi: Letters from the Guardian to Australia and New Zealand, p. 41, in Lights of Guidance, no. 1690)
Was not Krishna (and no connection we know of)[edit]
"Abraham and Krishna are two separate individuals, with no connection that we know of.
- (November 25, 1950, to an individual believer, taken from a compilation of extracts from letters written on behalf of the Guardian on these and related subjects, enclosed with a letter to an individual believer on November 30, 1980 from the Universal House of Justice, Lights of Guidance, no. 1696)
Thought to be follower of Sabeanism[edit]
"As to the religion of the Sabeans very little is known about the origins of this religion, though we Bahá’ís are certain of one thing, that the founder of it has been a divinely-sent Messenger. The country where Sabeanism became widespread and flourished was Chaldea, and Abraham is considered as having been a follower of that Faith."
- (From a letter written on behalf of the Guardian to an individual believer, November 10, 1939, in Lights of Guidance, no. 1694)
