Anxiety
Anxieties and fears distracting minds are formidable obstacles to be battled and surmounted in order to redeem countrymen[edit]
"...the fears and anxieties that distract their minds...are among the formidable obstacles that stand in the path of every would-be warrior in the service of Bahá'u'lláh, obstacles which he must battle against and surmount in his crusade for the redemption of his own countrymen."
"To the degree that the home front crusader is himself cleansed of these impurities, liberated from these petty preoccupations and gnawing anxieties...emptied of self, and filled by the healing and the sustaining power of God, will he be able to combat the forces arrayed against him, magnetize the souls of those whom he seeks to convert, and win their unreserved, their enthusiastic and enduring allegiance to the Faith of Bahá'u'lláh."

Supplication affirming one to no longer be full of anxiety or let trouble harass one[edit]
"O God! Refresh and gladden my spirit. Purify my heart. Illumine my powers. I lay all my affairs in Thy hand. Thou art my Guide and my Refuge. I will no longer be sorrowful and grieved; I will be a happy and joyful being. O God! I will no longer be full of anxiety, nor will I let trouble harass me. I will not dwell on the unpleasant things of life."
- (Attributed to 'Abdu'l-Bahá, Bahá'í Prayers, p. 152; however, see this letter regarding this prayer's degree of authenticity)
Spiritual man always calm and serene whereas material man worried and harassed by little things[edit]
"A material man lets himself be worried and harrassed by little things but a spiritual man is always calm and serene under all circumstances."
- (Attributed to 'Abdu'l-Bahá, Diary of Mirza Ahmad Sohrab, July 10, 1914; in Star of the West, Volume 7, Issue 16, p. 154)
