Christ sacrificed once and for all time per the Bible

Christ offered for all time a single sacrifice for sins[edit]

“We have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all ... But when Christ had offered for all time a single sacrifice for sins ... For by a single offering He has perfected for all time those who are sanctified...”

(Hebrews 10:10-15)

Note[edit]

  • An argument by some Christians is that Christ’s sacrifice once and for all is enough to sanctify all people and therefore Bahá’u’lláh is not needed.

Christ offering to bear the sins of many will appear a second time[edit]

“So Christ having offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time...”

(Hebrews 9:28)

Notes[edit]

  • Therefore Bahá’u’lláh is the Return of the same Christ Whose sacrifice was perfect and for all time and Whose Return is eagerly awaited.
  • The literal body of Christ did die only once and for the benefit of all, but the Spirit of Christ, which did not die, has returned in Bahá’u’lláh. Therefore, any Christian following Christ’s teachings for which the body of Christ was only sacrificed once to establish for the benefit of all will find the Spirit of Christ and the fulfillment of these teachings using Biblical proofs in the Revelation of Bahá’u’lláh.

The Return of Christ will be fought against in battle, persecuted and attacked, i.e., further sacrifice is expected for Christ[edit]

"Then I saw the beast and the kings of the earth and their armies gathered together to wage war against the rider on the horse and his army. But the beast was captured, and with it the false prophet who had performed the signs on its behalf. With these signs he had deluded those who had received the mark of the beast and worshiped its image. The two of them were thrown alive into the fiery lake of burning sulfur. The rest were killed with the sword coming out of the mouth of the rider on the horse, and all the birds gorged themselves on their flesh."

(Revelation 19:19-21)
