Clean clothing
From Bahai9
No trace of dirt to be found on garments or prayers shall not ascend to God (unless one has a good reason)[edit]
"Cleave ye unto the cord of refinement with such tenacity as to allow no trace of dirt to be seen upon your garments. Such is the injunction of One Who is sanctified above all refinement. Whoso falleth short of this standard with good reason shall incur no blame. God, verily, is the Forgiving, the Merciful."
- (Bahá'u'lláh, Kitáb-i-Aqdas, par. 74)
"Should the garb of anyone be visibly sullied, his prayers shall not ascend to God, and the celestial Concourse will turn away from him."
- (Bahá'u'lláh, Kitáb-i-Aqdas, par. 76)
Belivers exhorted to wear clean clothes[edit]
"The believers are exhorted in the Kitáb-i-Aqdas...to wear clean clothes and generally to be the essence of cleanliness and refinement. The Synopsis and Codification, section IV.D.3.y.i.-vii., summarizes the relevant provisions.
