Primary Premise (Para. 1): Having previously demonstrated the existence of the human spirit, its immortality must be established as the foundation of all divine religions.
Two Categories of Divine Consequences (Para. 2):
Existential Rewards and Punishments: Experienced both in this world and in heavenly realms; attaining them constitutes true eternal life ("born of water and of the spirit").
Ultimate Rewards and Punishments: The spiritual conditions and bestowals attained after the soul ascends from the physical world.
While rational proofs satisfy the intellect, spiritual awakening (an opened inner eye and attuned spiritual ear) makes the immortality of the spirit as self-evident as the sun.
Transition (Para. 8): Acknowledgment that further rational arguments will be provided in subsequent discourses.
