True seeker should commune with God at dawn of every day[edit]

"At the dawn of every day he [a true seeker] should commune with God, and with all his soul persevere in the quest of his Beloved."

(Bahá'u'lláh, Kitáb-i-Íqán, par. 214, pp. 194)

'Abdu'l-Bahá begs for (Spiritual Assembly) members to turn to the Holy Land at dawn and experience spiritual emotions with all intensity[edit]

"At every instant, I beg for you assistance, bounty, and a fresh favour and blessing, so that the confirmations of Bahá'u'lláh may, like unto the sea, be constantly surging, the lights of the Sun of Truth may shine upon you all and that ye may be confirmed in service, may become the manifestations of bounty and that each one of you may, at dawn, turn unto the Holy Land and may experience spiritual emotions with all intensity."

('Abdu'l-Bahá, Selections from the Writings of 'Abdu'l-Bahá, sec. 36)

God's grace can be obtained by fervently offering prayers at every dawn (and observing obligatory prayer)[edit]

"O thou servant of God! Each morn God's infinite grace confirmeth the ardent and tearful invocations of 'Abdu'l-Bahá. Accordingly, let every awakened soul obtain, to the extent of its capacity, a portion of this spiritual grace. This can be achieved by fervently offering unto God prayers and supplications at every dawn and observing the law of obligatory prayer. Thus may his nostrils delight in the sweet savours wafting from the garden of the bounty of God, his soul attain new life, and his reality mirror forth the effulgences of the All-Merciful."

('Abdu'l-Bahá, Importance of Obligatory Prayer and Fasting, no. 2.X)

Persevering in early morning supplications (and obligatory prayer) will day by day bring greater awareness and rend error among people of doubt, leading them to guidance[edit]

"Persevere in the use of the Obligatory Prayer and early morning supplications, so that day by day thine awareness may increase, and, through the power of the knowledge of God, thou mayest rend asunder the veil of error of the people of doubt and lead them to His unfailing guidance. In every assembly, like unto a candle, thou shouldst give forth the light of Divine knowledge."

('Abdu'l-Bahá, Importance of Obligatory Prayer and Fasting, no. 2.XVI)

Friends to observe the specific times for prayer for enterprise to prosper[edit]

"...the friends must observe the specific times for the remembrance of God, meditation, devotion and prayer, as it is highly unlikely, nay impossible, for any enterprise to prosper and develop when deprived of divine bestowals and confirmation."

(From a letter dated 19 December 1923 written by Shoghi Effendi to the Bahá'ís of the East - translated from the Persian, in Living the Life, no. 1267)
