Grace and works in the Bible

Saved through grace and faith not by works[edit]

"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do."

(Ephesians 2:8-10)

Justified by works and not faith alone[edit]

"You see that a person is considered righteous by what they do and not by faith alone."

(James 2:24)

He saved us on the basis of His mercy not our deeds[edit]

"he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit,"

(Titus 3:5)
