Lawh-i-Muhammad-`Alí

From Bahai9
Jump to:navigation, search

Read online at Gleanings, sec. 142

Phrase just means "I hope"[edit]

"Regarding your questions concerning the Gleanings:

"...On Page 312, the words "I feign would hope" are merely a very elevated style of English for saying "I hope". This tablet has nothing to do with Muhammad-'Ali."

(On behalf of Shoghi Effendi, Light of Divine Guidance (vol 2), p. 98)

Note[edit]

  • The spelling in the (current) translation is "I fain would hope"

To-dos for this page[edit]

  • Based on the above note, this Tablet has apparently been misnamed in the Leiden list (another name?)
