Talk:Separation of church and state

From Bahai9

These additional quotations are great. For whoever has added them, thank you for adding them, and if you are new to wikis, congratulations on getting a hang of the syntax. Just a couple suggestions:

  1. Though it is not required, I suggest registering and logging in so that people can more easily communicate with you when you make edits.
  2. Although having a compilation with such the words and sorted by author is certainly useful, and is the more common (though not exclusive) approach of the World Centre in making compilations, and sites like bahai-library.com typically welcome the hosting of personal compilations using such a format to allow perusal of raw quotes free of any interpretation, it would fit more with our approach here on Bahai9 if you could add headings that do attempt some analysis of the meaning, such as Lights of Guidance does, to help visitors in quickly finding subtopics and main points of interest and gaining a quick overview of the type of guidance available. (The quotes can also be split up as necessary to keep each heading relatively self-sufficient; we can also link back to the original sources so people can see the full quote in context.)

Also, per the explicitly relevant quotes policy on Bahai9:Site rules, I'm moving some quotes which can more decisively be categorized on the obedience to government, politics, etc. pages.

I've kept references more speaking directly to Assemblies and governments, however. So, the page is now left to deal more with the likes of the problems clergy have caused in interfering, Bahá'ís not seeking to supersede the constitution, etc. (though we also need quotes from the Guardian or House about the "supremely voluntary and democratic" process of the future by which a future Bahá'í world government comprising the majority of the world's peoples would take up affairs of state). I may move some quotes further but we can often add to the "See also" section to ensure this page links to quotes on other pages that a general Bahá'í audience adhering to relevant guidance could agree was relevant and of interest even if more explicitly treating of some other subject.
