From Bahai9
Jump to:navigation, search

Feet are to be washed at least once every 3 days in the winter and once a day in the summer[edit]

"Wash your feet once every day in summer, and once every three days during winter."

(Bahá'u'lláh, Kitáb-i-Aqdas, par. 152)
"To wash one's feet" (under "To be the essence of cleanliness")
(Shoghi Effendi, Synopsis and Codification of the Kitáb-i-Aqdas, IV.D.3.y.i)

Warm water is preferred for this but not required[edit]

"97. QUESTION: Concerning the washing of the feet in winter and summer.

"ANSWER: It is the same in both cases; warm water is preferable, but there can be no objection to cold."

(Bahá'u'lláh, Kitáb-i-Aqdas Question and Answer, no. 97)

"In relation to the washing of the feet, Bahá'u'lláh states that it is preferable to use warm water; however, washing in cold water is also permissible"

(Notes to the Kitáb-i-Aqdas, no. 167)
