May attract friends who desire to meet and pray to the Faith due to the wonderful prayers and meditations in our writings[edit]

"In some places the Bahá’ís have held meetings for prayer, for people who desire to meet and pray. As we have such wonderful prayers and meditations in our writings, the reading of these with friends who are interested in and crave for this type of small meeting is often a step towards attracting them to the Faith. Perhaps you can start such an activity in your city."

(From a letter written on behalf of the Guardian to an individual believer, February 4, 1956: Bahá’í Meetings, a compilation of the Universal House of Justice, November 1975, in Lights of Guidance, no. 1494)

To use graphic, performing, and folk arts and literature in consolidation[edit]

"In all their efforts to achieve the aim of the Four Year Plan, the friends are also asked to give greater attention to the use of the arts, not only for proclamation, but also for the work in expansion and consolidation. The graphic and performing arts and literature have played, and can play, a major role in extending the influence of the Cause. At the level of folk art, this possibility can be pursued in every part of the world, whether it be in villages, towns or cities. Shoghi Effendi held high hopes for the arts as a means for attracting attention to the Teachings. A letter written on his behalf to an individual thus conveys the Guardian's view: "The day will come when the Cause will spread like wildfire when its spirit and teachings will be presented on the stage or in art and literature as a whole. Art can better awaken such noble sentiments than cold rationalizing, especially among the mass of the people." (6)"

(Universal House of Justice, Four Year Plan, Ridván 1996 (Bahá'í Era 153), par. 31)
